Review : Salman ‘WANTED’ Khan in action like never before

wantedNow here comes the much awaited Salman flick ‘Wanted’ directed by the so called Micheal Jackson of India –Prabhudeva. If you are expecting this to be a musical hold on right there as Prabhudeva brings forth his Hindi adaptation of tamil flick ‘Pokiri’.

The movie revolves around ‘Radhe’(Salman Khan-in fact that’s the lucky name that won him praises for ‘Tere Naam’ ) a complete goon who would do anything for money and keeps switching parties as the pay cheque rises. In the midst of all the gun shots and crude raw world he exists in , he falls in love with a girl and vice-versa…..will there now be a change of heart?

Well, firstly lets get this clear that ‘wanted’ is strictly for the Indian masses i.e. ‘AAM JANTA’ , intellectuals can keep away from this masala flick. What then keeps this masala flick goin? Being adapted from tamil you will get a feel of a plot highly immersed in bloodshed , gun shots , violence and immense action. ‘Wanted’ is no ‘Jab we met’ and offers very less scope for romance.

ndeed there is a romantic angle to the plot but the whole movie seems to ride entirely on Salman and the action sequences…which are very ‘Tapori ‘indeed ( which actually works in favour of salman and his fans). Salman pulls in his usual funny side with a few dialogues such as the one in the lift and a few other heavy dialogues which one is sure to keep uttering at the end of the movie such as ‘EK BAAR JOH MAINE COMMITMENT KAR DI , TOH MEIN KHUD KI BHI NAHI SUNTA’.

Ayesha Takia , who is almost on her way out of bollywood also impresses as she compliments Salman’s rawness. She delivers her dialogues with ease and does well at emotions bit too (though not the finest of performances).

Mahesh Manjrekar impresses as the bad cop and Vinod Khaana has a few power packed lines.

But above all the movie belongs truly to Salman Khan .Salman looks ripped , fit and intense. His dialogues are heavy indeed and the action is raw and strictly not for the faint hearted. If Ghajini had some disturbing scenes of violence , well this one is loaded with it. Right from banging the goons against the train rod to ramming them across the post on a moving train etc.

The music of the film is not up to the mark but serves the purpose in adapting itself to the ‘tapori’ character of Salman in the film. Just a few songs could have been omitted. ‘Tosse Pyaar Karke’ truly fits the ‘tapori’ bill above all.

The movie also comes with some drawbacks-the screenplay fails to draw transitions between the action and the romance and at times the humour content, moving rapidly across the three. Also the lack of continuity in Salman’s look is a little weird mostly in the songs considering most songs were shot during Salman’s ‘Veer’ preparation. Also the length of the film hampers the final product .

For those , who have been starving to see Salman on screen for a while away since ‘Yuvraaj’ and those ladies who have been eager to see Salman topless in a flick for a while-well, Here comes ‘Wanted’. The last 20 mins are absolutely breathtaking.

Salman returns to such a role more intense than his last two actions flicks-‘Garv’ and ‘Veergati’ both of which were mere duds at the box office. Well, this time around the prospects seem to be better as the film faces a weak competitor and has the weekend plus the ‘Eid’ season to cash upon and considering Salman’s major fan following are not the elite or so but the masses , this one is sure to do well .
So go ahead and watch ‘Wanted’ leaving aside your brain and be entertained by the time pass songs and high volt action and masala.
